Three weeks ago, we began land preparation on a 30-hectare site—clearing, ploughing, and readying the soil for cassava cultivation. That groundwork laid the foundation for what is happening right now: planting has officially commenced! 🌱
Planting season is always exciting because it represents the start of growth after weeks of planning and preparation. With the fields now well-prepared, our team is carefully placing cassava cuttings into the soil, ensuring proper spacing and alignment to support healthy development in the weeks ahead.
What makes this season even more meaningful is the involvement of our inclusive farming partners. Some of them are right on the field, experiencing firsthand what it means to plant cassava on a large scale. This is the essence of our inclusive farming model—creating opportunities for investors, young agripreneurs, and women to actively participate in agriculture. Beyond financial participation, it is about engaging, learning, and building capacity.
Through this project, we are not only planting cassava but also contributing to community development and creating jobs. Every stage of the project—from land preparation to planting and eventual harvest—engages local labor, provides skill-building opportunities for youth, and strengthens the role of women in agribusiness. It is our way of ensuring that the impact of this farm extends beyond production into the socioeconomic growth of our community.
This project is more than farming; it is a commitment to consistent supply of cassava for processing factories within our region, and to building livelihoods that make agriculture sustainable for everyone involved.
Stay tuned—our next update will share early signs of growth as the cassava begins to establish itself in the field.
